Our very first in house tournament was a huge success! We had not a single injury apart from some minor bumps and bruises, scratches and patches. Every single competitor had at multiple matches and students from different academies had a chance to compete against other teams. All in all it was a great time.

A huge thank you goes to my family and my dojo family for their help. You guys are all awesome!

HALLOWEEN SAFETY GUIDE

Beyond Jiu-Jitsu just being the most fun martial art I think it’s the most fun hobby in the world! I’d rather do jiu-jitsu than skateboard, I’d rather roll than go hiking, running, or play basketball ect. The majority of jiu-jitsu heads would probably agree too!

Jiu-Jitsu is incredibly fun because a people with all sorts of different goals in mind can all still enjoy jiu-jitsu the same way and still have an amazing and fun time all in the same way regardless of their different approach or goals. I can be rolling on the same mat as Marcelo Garcia and I can have just as much fun as him! I can be rolling on the mat with a brand new white belt and I can have a blast.

I can become a technician on the mat who studies the art like a mad scientist! I can be a 1 time a week mat warrior who just trains when they can and we can still all have the same amount of fun! We can all still find the same fun and happiness at the end of a great class.
As fun as jiu-jitsu is the fun part is just an added bonus to what Jiu-Jitu truly can do. Jiu-Jitsu will build your confidence, increase your flexibility and endurance, and bring you inner peace. You can lose weight, get stronger, and simply become a better person by training it and those are only a handful of benefits. All of those incredible benefits are usually what get people to want to learn the art and be part of an incredible ever evolving community.

The hardest part for students is for them to understand WHY they continue to train. Why they have a membership to be part of a class. Why they should make the time in their busy schedule to go and train? Beyond the fact that Jiu-Jitsu can make you a healthier person, can build your confidence, or can teach you to defend yourself, JIU-JITSU Makes your HAPPY!!!!!!

Sometimes the hardest part can be getting to the school due to the endless reasons that pop up in our lives however remember when you get to the mats you have a blast!!!! Think of how you feel every time after you roll. You feel Great!

The hardest part or achieving any goal is Committing! Being happy is a goal for most people. There isn’t a lot out there in the world that encourages you to be happy lol the world can be a dark place that can suck happiness out of you. In many cases you have to make being happy a Goal and Priority. If it is a goal that means you have got to commit to it! Commitment: No Goals, No Glory! Commit to being happy and remember Jiu-Jitsu makes you happy.

Remember we train because it is FUN! When we do a positive activity that is fun we become Happy! In the troublesome world we live in full of struggles, obstacles, and problems finding things in this world that bring about happiness is important. An activity that we can do for the rest of our lives that promotes all the great things I said earlier and that can be shared with your family and friends is incredible!!!! Don’t forget the reason we all train. Because it is FUN!!!!
Get back on the mats and be happy ….and choke someone

  S.I.M.S. II / Self-Defense

This is a progressive self-defense class taught in a traditional environment. Students learn cutting edge self-defense techniques while experiencing the great benefits of traditional martial arts. Students in S.I.M.S. II study Karate, Filipino Martial Arts, Jujitsu, Jeet Kune Do/Jun Fan Gung Fu, and more.

S.I.M.S. II Students range from brand new martial arts students to taekwon-do 5^th degree black belt instructors. The simple truth is this class is truly for the martial arts enthusiast who enjoys the arts as a whole.
